Adnan Oktar: The Sun rises where it sets. And it sets where rises. That is generally the case. Since the Sun set, it is from here it will also rise. That is my first belief. My second but my fundamental belief is that, according to the hadith, Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear in Istanbul. There are many hadith about that. They refer to Konstantiniyye. There are also many hadith about the Turks undertaking this duty. Many hadith speak of Hazrat Mahdi (as) emerging from among the Turks. That is how it appears when we look at the historical circumstances. THAT IS HOW IT APPEARS WHEN WE LOOK AT THE SOCIAL CONSITIONS. FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE FLOW OF GENERAL HISTORY NOW IT ALSO APPEARS THAT TURKEY WILL BE THE NATURAL LEADER. Indeed no other country other than Turkey approaches leadership at the moment. THE IDEAL THING, THE GENERALLY ACCEPTED VIEW IN THE ISLAMIC WORLD, IS TURKISH LEADERSHIP. Whoever one asks, whichever Arab country one asks, they all want Turkish leadership. I have not seen anyone asking for any other country.

Adnan Oktar: Of course. That is how I have been since childhood. I have never thought anything else, insha’Allah. There does not seem to be any other solution. WHEN WE ASK ‘WHO SHOULD BE THE LEADER?’ IN THE ISLAMIC WORLD, EVERYONE SAYS THE TURKS, THEY ALL SAY TURKEY SHOULD BE THE LEADER. Nobody says that Egypt should be the leader, or Iran, and they have no such pretensions themselves. They insist the Turks should do it. That is also what our Prophet (saas) says. Turkey is where the Hazrat Mahdi (as) will appear, all the portents of the End Times center around Turkey, and they all refer to Istanbul. The hadith about Hazrat Mahdi (as) all refer to Istanbul, by the name of Konstantiniyye, which then assumed the name Istanbul. We can also see from other accounts that Turkey will fulfill this great duty; it is the proper nation to do so, and that is no exaggeration, just the truth. That is why I believe that the time has come. The latest developments all indicate that.
